Chronic Inflammation, Arthritis

D oing research on arthritis and chronic inflammation and I came across this article by Jedha Dening, Nutritionist, who has a Masters in Nutrition, Inflammation and Immunity. She explains inflammation and then offers a solution to the problem.

Acute Inflammation
Inflammation is the bodies natural response to injury, stress and trauma.
Chronic Inflammation
The problems only start beginning to occur when acute inflammation becomes chronic inflammation. This chronic inflammation is also called systemic inflammation.
Chronic inflammation is delayed, persistent and ongoing inflammation. The fascinating thing about the body is that this isn’t just occurring in our joints, as in arthritis, but this all occurs on a cellular level.
Things that contribute to inflammation
Bad dietary habits such as eating sugar, salt, processed foods, alcohol, overeating, soft drinks, bad fats; seed oils and trans-fats. These are foods that are not natural to our body so they can become the stimulus for the inflammatory cascade.
The Solution
The good news is, we can control the amount of chronic inflammation occurring in the body.
As many of these diseases are lifestyle diseases, factors such as diet, exercise, the type of foods we eat, and taking supportive herbs and supplements can all be a great help to treat the situation and reduce the rate of inflammation that occurs. In particular, nutrition plays a key role because our body is created by the food we eat. Thankfully nutrition is something we have direct influence over.
Yes the answer is... food.

The food you eat, nutrition, diet. That's the answer. Covered this in previous posts. Some people, including doctors, find it hard to believe that diet can have such an adverse affect on health and the body.

Some people also find it hard to believe that diet can have such a healing affect on health and the body.

If a flower or plant is given the wrong nutrients what will happen to the plant / flower? Healthy or unhealthy?

If a flower or plant is given the correct nutrients what will happen to the plant / flower? Healthy or unhealthy?

Look at the Standard American Diet / Standard Western Diet, then look at the standard American's physical condition or the standard westerner's physical condition. Its plain to see. Its a no-brainer. One follows the other.

Eat like this and you become like that.
